How was Poppy made?
Poppy’s Head is styrofoam, which is then plastered, painted and collaged with a mixture of decoupage and decorative papers. The papers are then sealed, before finally adding sequins and jewels and fake eyelashes!
Poppy’s Base is a salvaged wood segment, cut from real branches that are offcuts from industries (such as paper) and given a 2nd life. The base has been decorated with preserved Norwegian moss, mini pinecones, decorative peacock card, paper flowers, sequins and natural stone beads. Each base is stamped underneath for Mane & Mantel authenticity.
Poppy’s Headdress has a leather base, edged with blue satin rope. The headdress comes with a elastic band that is attached to each side of the head band, which is then stretched around the back of your head. The elastic secures the headdress in place, allowing you to move and dance freely without it falling off.
The Poppy headdress is adorned with a mixture of foam, satin and paper flowers, natural feathers, peacock designed card, wooden butterflies, and stone jewels.
