How was Iris made?
Iris’s head is styrofoam, which is then plastered, painted, and collaged with a mixture of decoupage and decorative papers. The papers are then sealed before finally adding rhinestones, jewels, and fake eyelashes!
Iris’s Base is a salvaged wood segment, cut from real branches that are offcuts from industries (such as paper) and given a second life. The base has been decorated with dried flowers, decorative beads, fabric and paper flowers, butterflies, and a central decorative bead.
Iris’s headdress has a leather base, edged with gold satin rope. The headdress comes with an elastic band that is attached to each side of the headband, which is then stretched around the back of your head. This secures the headdress in place, allowing you to move and dance freely without it falling off.
The Iris headdress is adorned with a mixture of foam flowers, large decorative balls, large pinecones, golden faux leaves, and glitter leaves
